How to draw a cute santa

Draw the cheeks and oval nose

Sketch a rounded upper head with gentle cheek curves, turning the face slightly to the right. Add an oval nose between the cheeks and leave the lower face open for the beard.

Add happy eyes and a moustache

Draw two happy crescent eyes and small arched eyebrows. Add two curved moustache lobes beneath the nose and a tiny open smile below them.

Outline the smooth beard

Add a small ear on the left. Draw a broad, smooth beard outline around the lower face, gently narrowing toward a rounded chin. Keep the inner cheek curves visible above the moustache.

Add a tall floppy hat

Draw a curved hat band above the eyes. Add a tall cap bending to the left and finish its tip with a round pompom.

Draw the coat, boots and a present

Add a small rounded coat beneath the beard and two short boots. Place a square present in front of the belly, then draw short arms and round mittens holding its sides. Begin the ribbon with a vertical line.

Finish the ribbon and coat trim

Complete the crossed ribbon bands on the present. Add simple cuff lines and a narrow band along the coat hem to finish your Santa.

Sketch a large head circle with light face guides and a small pear-shaped torso below it. Add short arm and leg guides, a raised hand circle and an oval for the gift sack.

Beginner tip: Keep the head larger than the torso to establish Santa's cute proportions.

Sweep two curled moustache shapes out from the nose and frame the chin with a soft scalloped beard. Add an oversized floppy hat, its broad band and a fluffy pompom.

Draw the coat, mittens and boots

Shape the rounded coat with cuffs and a wide hem. Add a waving mitten, a lowered mitten gripping the sack, a broad belt and buckle, short trousers and small boots.

Add fluffy trim and the gift sack

Use irregular tufts for the hat band, pompom, cuffs and hem. Add grouped beard strands, a few clothing folds and a tied bow with broad folds on the little sack.

Beginner tip: Leave white spaces between texture marks so the fur stays soft and fluffy.

Step 6 of 6

Finish with gentle shading and snow

Erase unused guides and strengthen selected overlapping contours. Add sparse hatching beneath the hat, beard and coat, then ground Santa with soft shadows, small snow mounds and a few falling flakes.
