What you need
A pencil, an eraser and a sheet of paper are enough. Draw lightly at first, then trace the lines you want to keep when your persian cat is finished.
Step 1 of 6
Draw the Persian cat's round head
Begin with a large circle for the head. A broad, round shape helps create the compact look of a Persian cat.

Add two small rounded ears
Draw a short curved ear on each side of the top of the head. Keep the ears smaller than you would for most other cats.

Draw the flat Persian face
Add two big round eyes and a tiny nose near the center of the face. Draw a short mouth below it, then add whiskers and soft cheek tufts.
Beginner tip: Placing the nose close to the eyes creates the Persian's characteristic flat-faced expression.

Create a wide fluffy body
Draw a broad, rounded body under the head with small zigzags around the outside. Add two short front legs and compact paws.

Your drawing after step 4 Step 5 of 6
Add the back legs and thick tail
Round out the seated back legs on both sides. Draw a large fluffy tail resting beside the body with a cloud-like outline.

Finish the Persian cat's thick coat
Use short curved strokes across the head, chest, body and tail to suggest dense, long fur. Leave open white space between the marks for a clean finish.

That's it! You have drawn a persian cat.
Trace your favorite lines a little darker, erase any unwanted pencil marks and add color if you would like.
